The Zanj Rebellion wasn't the first documented slave revolt in history (though maybe the first one against specifically anti-Black enslavement—not sure about that). The one led by Spartacus comes to mind; I imagine there were more against slaving powers predating the romans as well, documented or not. As long as there has been enslavement, there has been rebellion against it.
